Prior to opening her own private law practice, Ms. Sargeant served as an Assistant United States Attorney, during which time she gained significant jury trial and appellate experience representing the government as a prosecutor and in civil litigation.

She has served as counsel in the Department of Justice's Office of Professional Responsibility and as counsel to the Ethics Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives. She also served as an attorney with the Enforcement Division of the Office of Market Oversight and Investigations of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

In her practice, Ms. Sargeant has counseled and represented private individuals and small businesses in a range of matters related to employment law issues, criminal and administrative matters as well as internal investigations. She places a high priority on client service, responsiveness and conscientious individual attention.
